We are entering the time of year when the sun hides. A lot.
People here often get quite depressed during the Fall and Winter because the sun simply is not visible. We work up to thick, thick, fog this morning. No, my lens isn’t dirty.
But isn’t our spiritual life like this sometimes? We walk in faith, walk in the Spirit and yet, things seem very foggy and we can’t see the sun. But it’s important to remember that the sun is, in fact, shining. Always. Sometimes it means that we have strayed off the path of the Spirit, of course, but sometimes it’s just a time where our earthly vision is clouded.
One thing I am learning each day is that I CAN’T doubt in the dark what I knew to be true in the light. Truth never changes. The truth of Who God is never changes. Ever.
Romans 8:15 — For you did not receive the spirit of slavery to fall back into fear, but you have received the Spirit of adoption as sons, by whom we cry, “Abba! Father!”
1 Corinthians 1:4-9 — I give thanks to my God always for you because of the grace of God that was given you in Christ Jesus,5 that in every way you were enriched in him in all speech and all knowledge— 6 even as the testimony about Christ was confirmed among you— 7 so that you are not lacking in any gift, as you wait for the revealing of our Lord Jesus Christ, 8 who will sustain you to the end, guiltless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ. 9 God is faithful, by whom you were called into the fellowship of his Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.
I was so encouraged by this Scripture this morning in my study time. “…Who will sustain you to the end…”
Be blessed today as you Bless His Name!
